Reason Why WWE Cancelled This Week’s Raw Underground

Over the past few months, the final hour of Monday Night Raw has been dominated by Raw Underground. Hosted by Shane McMahon, the show has been allowing WWE stars with a background in MMA or amateur wrestling to show off their skills in a no holds barred format.

Braun Strowman has recently been able to find his feet as part of the show, but interestingly there was no segment on this week’s episode of Raw.

According to Fightful Select, there is a good reason for this.

Raw Underground is usually taped at the Performance Center and many of the extras who are at ringside are recruits from the PC. Given the recent outbreak, there weren’t enough bodies to be part of the audience for the show, so WWE decided against taping Raw Underground this week

Many main roster and NXT stars have been affected by the recent COVID-19 outbreak and given these issues “the segment was deemed unnecessary.”
