Rey Mysterio Expected to Return From Injury in Two Months

At Payback, The Mysterio Family scored a huge win over Seth Rollins and Murphy in an intense action-packed bout. The victory was essentially sweet revenge for the babyfaces, but Rey Mysterio sustained a torn tricep in the process.

Mysterio was supposed to wrestle Seth Rollins last night on RAW. Since the injury is legitimate, Mr. 619 was unable to fight and instead, his son Dominik went head-to-head with The Monday Night Messiah.

The young wrestler took severe punishment from the 3-time Universal Champion and suffered the second loss of his in-ring career.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported the potential return timetable for Mysterio. The masked legend can’t afford to sit out for long due to the key storyline he’s currently involved in.

“If he had a full tear then he would need surgery and he’d be out eight months. I hear two months or less so, you know it’s a real injury and not a good time, but it’s a whole lot better than six to eight months out, especially right now when he’s a real focal part of the show and he’s in a real key angle.”

It would be interesting to see how WWE books Dominik from here on while his father recovers from injury.
