Rey Mysterio’s WWE Deal Has Reportedly Expired, Working Raw Without Contract

Rey Mysterio is no longer under contract with WWE as his deal has expired. The high-flying veteran is still currently working a top storyline with Seth Rollins on Monday Night RAW.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mysterio is currently working without a written contract. The Biggest Little Man and his son Dominick were scheduled to appear in person during RAW on June 29th but plans changed and they filmed the angle at home.

Mr. 619 had signed a 2-year deal in September 2018 with an 18-month opt-out clause, and it appears that the future Hall Of Famer is exercising the said clause.

Further reports suggest that WWE is building towards an “Eye for an Eye” match between Mysterio and Rollins. The only way to win is by “taking out” the opponent’s eye. WWE is expected to announce the bloody showdown for The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.

Mysterio was previously expected to re-sign with WWE. However, per the latest report, it seems like he is simply walking away from WWE.

Prior to his WWE return in 2018, Rey has wrestled at the ALL OUT pay-per-view. Now that Mysterio is no longer under contract with WWE, it will be interesting to see if AEW can sign the biggest high-flyer in pro wrestling history.
