A few weeks ago, talks of the highly-anticipated dream match between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Roman Reigns resurfaced in the IWC following The Great One’s statement that he would love to put his cousin over at the Grandest Stage of them all.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports there’s one thing that could prevent The Rock vs. Reigns match from happening at WrestleMania. And that is movie insurance.
Following The Rock’s match against John Cena at WrestleMania 29, movie insurances have been the primary reason why The People’s Champion hasn’t competed in a WWE ring.
“Basically, his line is that Rock brought it up, not Reigns. Make no mistake about it. Dwayne Johnson would love to put Reigns over at a WrestleMania in front of a big crowd. The issue has been insurance issues regarding other work he has coming up. It’s been an issue since the second Cena match. There have been at least three ideas, a singles with Lesnar, a singles match with HHH, and Rock & Rousey vs. HHH & Stephanie for him but none ever materialized.”
The issue of insurance has led to the cancelation of The Rock’s return to the ring on three different occasions and that makes it all the more interesting to see whether Hollywood’s highest-paid actor can fulfill his desire of putting The Big Dog over at WrestleMania.
