Winner of the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair will most certainly challenge Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.
Recent rumors have suggested that the title defense could be booked for NXT TakeOver: Tampa instead of ‘Mania.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Flair vs. Ripley will indeed take place at WrestleMania; the title showdown is a lock for the April 5th PPV. However, there’s always the possibility of WWE changing plans as the Show Of Shows draws nearer.
“Since this question has been asked, I was told there is no chance the Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair NXT women’s title match takes place on Takeover and that it is a lock for Mania. As much a lock as anything because everything is up to change in this company.”
Ripley will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair this Sunday at TakeOver: Portland and there’s absolutely zero chance of a title change at the event.
Elsewhere, Eric Rowan has been carrying around his mysterious friend inside a cage since his parting ways with Daniel Bryan.
Numerous enhancement talents have tried taking a sneak peek of what’s inside the cage only to unleash Rowan’s wrath upon themselves. However, it appears that WWE is now ready to unveil what kind of “friend” Big Red carries around with him.
Brad Shepard reports that the current plan is for the cage to contain a spider. While this may sound completely absurd, it seems like WWE doesn’t have any other idea but to throw an eight-legged creature inside Rowan’s cage for the time being.
Hopefully, WWE will come up with something better than just a spider. After all, Mojo Rawley’s reaction upon taking a glimpse of the creature was terrifying enough to indicate that Rowan isn’t friends with any ordinary spider.
