Rusev didn’t appear on Monday Night RAW this week but his wife Lana wrestled Liv Morgan in a losing effort. The real-life couple is still involved in the heated (steamy) storyline featuring Bobby Lashley and although The All Mighty competed this past Monday, The Bulgarian Brute was absent from the show.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rusev was “taken off television” owing to an issue with his contract.
“Rusev has been off television due to a contract dispute.”
It’s to be noted that unlike Lana who has already inked a new 5-year deal with WWE, Rusev is yet to re-sign with the company.
The Revival were recently reported to have turned down multiple offers from WWE; the highly talented team of Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder desperately want to leave the company at all costs.
Wrestling Observer reports that The Revival again asked for their release this past week but instead of granting their request, WWE countered them with a bigger offer which the former RAW Tag Team Champions obviously declined.
“The Revival asked for their release again this past week. WWE greatly increased their offer for a new five-year deal and after getting the offer, they turned it down and asked for their release. At this point they haven’t been released. Their deals would have expired some months back but they’ve had time tacked on due to each member being out with injuries, but I believe they would be clear around April”
For months, it’s been rumored that The Revival could be signing with AEW once their WWE deals expire and the duo filing a copyright for “Shatter Machine” further weighs in on the rumors.
Dash will become a free agent in April while Wilder’s deal will be up in June. Both men are seemingly waiting out their existing contracts.
