Sasha Banks has reportedly inked a new deal with WWE, according to an exclusive report by Fightful.com. The Boss reportedly signed a contract on the August 12 episode of RAW, when she made her return to WWE after a hiatus.
Sasha Banks took a leave of absence from the company after she and Bayley lost the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships at WrestleMania to The IIconics. Banks’ absence led to rumors about her future in WWE, and reports of her feeling discontent with her booking were published quite often.
However, WWE released a documentary earlier this month, in which Sasha Banks talked about her hiatus. Banks said that she needs time off to recharge physically and mentally.
Banks moved to the main roster in 2015, along with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, and has had a great run in the company. She took part in the first-ever Hell in a Cell match, main-evented RAW in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, wrestled in a 30 minute Iron Man match, performed admirably well in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble and became the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champion along with Bayley.
The four-time RAW Women’s Champion was rumored to join AEW on several occasions, but she eventually returned with a new persona last month.
The Boss is currently scheduled to face Becky Lynch in a Hell in a Cell match set to take place in a week’s time. Sasha Banks was reportedly backed by RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman and will be a major part of the Women’s Division in the coming months.
The new-deal is most likely an upgrade for Banks, as she had already signed a long-term deal after WrestleMania last year. The 27-year old has a long career ahead of her in WWE, and hopefully, WWE continues to use her in a proper manner.
