Scream Mask Attacker at NXT Halloween Havoc Rumored to Be a Stand-in for Indi Hartwell

There were several talking points coming out of last night’s NXT Halloween Havoc event, but many fans have been left guessing the identity of the figure in the scream mask.

The masked individual first appeared to help Johnny Gargano win the North American Championship at the top of the show, before later attempting to help Candice LeRae to become NXT Women’s Champion.

In the women’s main event match, the figure was stopped by host Shotzi Blackheart and their identity was never revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer on The Wrestling Observer, the original plan here was for Indi Hartwell to be revealed as the person under the mask but this plan was changed following the latest Covid-19 outbreak.

According to the report, Indi Hartwell was the only star who was taken from the taping last night and forced to quarantine after a coach at the Performance Center tested positive and the company then forced everyone at the gym on Friday to quarantine whether they tested positive or not.

Luckily for WWE and their NXT plans, there weren’t any stars at the Center that were regulars on NXT TV at the time.

The report goes on to suggest that the reason the star wasn’t unmasked was so that Hartwell could be revealed as the mystery star in the future.
