Shane McMahon Reportedly Being Considered for the Role of Head Writer on Monday Night Raw

Paul Heyman was removed from his role as head writer on Monday Night Raw a few months ago and Bruce Prichard has since been forced to step in and is now the head writer for both Raw and SmackDown.

Prichard has taken on quite the workload over the past few weeks and has made no secret of the fact that he wishes to take some of it down since he’s been struggling with some of the long hours.

According to a report by Alex McCarthy of Sportskeeda, Vince McMahon could have an idea to help Prichard to make his main focus SmackDown once again. The report notes that The Chairman of WWE could be looking to make his son Shane McMahon the new head writer of Raw in the coming months.

Shane has only recently made his return to TV as the host of Raw Underground and has since helped the ratings but his new job would mean that he would once again be working closely with his father who has the final say on all Raw storylines.

Now that SmackDown is exclusive to FOX, Prichard is under a lot of pressure to turn over some hard-hitting storylines on the Friday night show and if McMahon is able to take over on Raw then it would allow him to focus on SmackDown moving forward.

Shane has plenty of experience in the role and has been involved behind the scenes for the past 12 months.

As noted, this is just a rumor at present and nothing has been officially announced but there could be some movement backstage on Raw in the coming months.
