Shayna Baszler will be making her debut on RAW Underground this week, according to a recent tweet by WrestleVotes. The former UFC fighter will be a perfect fit for the shoot fighting segment on the red brand, which came into inception last week by Shane McMahon.
Baszler has seemingly turned babyface for the time being with her feud with Nia Jax and has made her intentions clear about the RAW Women’s Championship. However, it seems like the longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion will enter the Underground as the first female contestant.
The RAW Underground concept received mixed reactions by the wrestling community last week, but the company is promoting it heavily nonetheless.
With several names like Dolph Ziggler, The Hurt Business, and Viking Raiders making an appearance on the shoot-fighting based concept, the company is going all-in on the idea.
Several female superstars of WWE expressed their interest in joining the RAW Underground over the past week, including Baszler. Even former WWE Champion CM Punk loved the concept and wanted Nia Jax to compete in the new format.
WWE also released new merchandise for RAW Underground recently and possibly looking to add a championship to the program. It will be interesting to see how far WWE goes with the idea, as RAW’s ratings did receive a great boost in several demos with the introduction of RAW Underground last week.
