Shayna Baszler’s fall from supremacy is quite a story in WWE. Several NXT call-ups have faced the wrath of disastrous booking on the main roster, and the Queen of Spades had to endure a similar fate.
Baszler last wrestled in May during an episode of RAW, where the Queen of Spades took down the Queen of Harts, Natalya, in a submission match. Vince McMahon reportedly removed Baszler from WWE programming as he didn’t get the appeal of Baszler’s MMA style matchups.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter also added that Baszler didn’t fit the idea of women in pro wrestling according to the WWE Chairman, which led to Baszler’s push being canceled.
Baszler had a strong debut earlier this year, when she had the best performance at Royal Rumble, followed by a complete whitewash at Elimination Chamber.
PWInsider reported that Baszler is finally returning to WWE television after two months, as she wrestled during a taping of WWE Main Event last week. Paul Heyman was a big advocate for Shayna Baszler, and his departure from the Executive Director role could have contributed to her absence from WWE programming.
“For those who have asked where Shayne Baszler been, she worked a match this past week for a future episode of Main Event at the WWE Performance Center.”
The former NXT Champion doesn’t have age on her side, and she will be looking to become a major name on RAW soon.
