The Women’s Evolution has taken over WWE over the past few years and many believed that it culminated at WrestleMania back in April when the women were finally able to main event WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Since WrestleMania, the push for WWE’s women has continued and at Survivor Series and TLC, it was the women who were given the main event spot and the women of NXT were given their first War Games match.

Many believed that there wasn’t much more history for the women to make after this year when the Women’s Tag Team Championships were unveiled, but according to a report by Sportskeeda’s Gary Cassidy, Stephanie McMahon believes that there could be a Women’s mid-card title in the future.

The former commissioner of Raw and one of WWE’s main shareholders stated that “As the Women’s Division grows, there may be a need for one” which means that there could be more women added to the main roster brand in the future. This tied into reports that Shayna Baszler could be heading to the main roster soon, and many more current NXT women’s could follow suit.

At present, the women have Championships on Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and NXT UK as well as the Women’s Tag Team Championships which are not brand exclusive, but the Raw Women’s Champion has been embroiled in the Tag Team Championship picture over the past month.

There are a number of women on the current roster who are not being utilized including Carmella, Dana Brooke, Natalya, Lacey Evans, Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose. A mid-card championship could mean that many of the women who are not used regularly would have a championship to aim for if WWE wasn’t prepared to push them towards a match for the main titles on their respective brands.
