This week on Raw, Mark Henry was spotted in a backstage segment with Bianca Belair and Ruby Riott, in what seemed as though it was a strange addition to the show.

Of course, it was Henry who recruited Belair to the WWE while working as a scout, but it didn’t fit in with the storyline.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, there was a plan for The Nation of Domination to reform as a way to allow Mark Henry to return to WWE TV.

This is the reason why Ron Simmons was spotted on TV last week, but the angle was reportedly scrapped at the last minute so WWE decided to allow Henry to be on WWE TV while he was there.

“The deal with Mark Henry was – Mark Henry and Ron Simmons were brought in for these tapings for the Nation of Domination angle that they scrapped. So I guess they just figured since Mark Henry is there, they just put him on TV for no reason.”

The Nation of Domination stable was shelved given the current climate and the fact that the company was getting some bad feedback from officials backstage when the idea was pitched.
