The Undertaker May Not Be Part Of SummerSlam Despite Being Advertised

The Undertaker has already reached the point in his career where he can pick and choose when he wants to return to the company and who he wants to share the ring with.

Over the past few years, The Deadman has taken full advantage of this since he wasn’t even part of WrestleMania back in April, but appeared the night after on Raw and then opted to wrestle in Saudi Arabia because it was a much bigger payday.

Following his apparent fantasy match against Goldberg in The Middle East last month, Undertaker reportedly named Drew McIntyre on his “short list” as one of the stars that he wanted to face in the future, which started rumors about a match between the two men as part of next year’s WrestleMania.

Currently, local advertisements in Toronto, Canada, the city which will host SummerSlam next month are advertising this match for August 11th.

According to Dave Meltzer on the most recent episode of The Wrestling Observer, there are currently no plans for this match to be part of the show even though it’s being advertised ahead of time.

WWE has been known to send out match graphics before changing them at the last minute so that ticket sales increase and given their recent issues with ticket sales at both Stomping Grounds and Extreme Rules, this would be a wise tactic.

Undertaker appeared on all the advertisements for WrestleMania back in April but he didn’t appear as part of the show and now it’s hard to imagine The Deadman wrestling at two pay-per-views back to back.

It could be that The Undertaker may not be part of The Biggest Party of the Summer, after all, plans are still subject to change since Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff could have a very different vision for the show.
