WWE make their fourth trip over to The Middle East in less than two weeks’ time when they present Crown Jewel. The show looks set to be the biggest that the company has presented from Saudi Arabia since it includes Cain Velasquez who is representing UFC as a former World Champion and Tyson Fury who brings his boxing background with him.
With just two weeks to go until the show, the matches are already taking shape, but when the official announcement for Crown Jewel was made, The Undertaker was expected to be one of the stars who made the trip over to the Middle East.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer recently addressed the reason why The Deadman wasn’t returning for Crown Jewel and revealed that he wasn’t actually scheduled to be part of the pay-per-view.
While a number of matches have already been announced for the show, The Deadman hasn’t been mentioned on WWE TV in the buildup and there has been no hint or tease about any kind of match for the former World Champion.
Undertaker has been part of all previous visits to Saudi Arabia since he faced off with Rusev in a Casket Match at The Greatest Royal Rumble back in 2018, teamed up with Kane against DX last year at the pay-per-view of the same name and earlier this year he squared off against Goldberg in a match he would rather forget.
So far the card looks quite stacked without Undertaker’s inclusion since Tyson Fury will take on Braun Strowman while Seth Rollins defends his Universal Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match against The Fiend.
Cain Velasquez battles Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in his first-ever WWE match, Cesaro battles hometown star Mansoor and Team Hogan will face off against Team Flair in a five-on-five tag team match, not to mention the huge nine-team Tag Team Turmoil Match for the WWE Tag Team World Cup.
