Thunder Rosa Exposed to COVID-19, Pulled From AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash Night 2

A change has been made to the card of next week’s AEW Dynamite as one of the participants was exposed to COVID-19.

Thunder Roda was set to face Britt Baker on the New Year’s Smash Night 2 of AEW Dynamite this Wednesday. That match has been pulled as Rosa was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, as reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to the report, the match is still planned for a later date once Rosa is cleared to return to action. Baker and Rosa have been involved in a storyline feud for the past few weeks, though their encounters have been limited to backstage or after-match confrontations.

The match between Baker and Rosa would have been their first, so fans were disappointed when it wasn’t included in the announcements on last week’s episode of Dynamite.

Instead, what was announced was Baker hosting her “Waiting Room” talk show segment with Cody Rhodes as the special guest.

A championship match was also announced for New Year’s Smash Night 2 with NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb defending her championship against AEW’s Tay Conti.
