One half of WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Miz, along with WWE United States Champion Andrade will not be appearing at WrestleMania. Despite being in Orlando for the tapings, Miz wasn’t put on the show, according to PWInsider.
The Miz is reportedly sick, and hence he was kept off the card for the event. Miz was scheduled to team-up with John Morrison and defend their titles against the winner of Usos vs New Day match, scheduled to take place on SmackDown this week.
Miz calling in sick was also the reason for Roman Reigns deciding to stay away from the ring for WrestleMania, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter. There haven’t been any official announcements made regarding the changes to the card for WrestleMania, but more details shall be revealed to the WWE Universe soon.
WrestleMania 36 has already been taped, and hence, the next two weeks of SmackDown will be an interesting watch. There were no details revealed about Miz’s illness, but with the COVID-19 outbreak causing tremendous caution in the country, it is better to be safe than sorry.
Andrade, who was supposed to team up with fellow Latin superstar Angel Garza to take on The Street Profits at WrestleMania, has been ruled out of the match. Andrade reportedly suffered a rib injury during the RAW tapings earlier this week, which led to his absence from the card.
WWE brought up NXT star Austin Theory, who recently joined the company, as a replacement for the former NXT and United States Champion. Theory and Garza reportedly fought for the titles, and a segment was shot by WWE explaining this change. It should air on RAW next week.
Monday Night Messiah Seth Rollins’ disciple Murphy has also missed the tapings, as he wasn’t cleared to appear. Murphy wasn’t scheduled for a matchup but would have most likely stood behind his leader Seth Rollins in his match against Kevin Owens.
