Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury was in attendance during the premiere of SmackDown on Fox and it looks like it’s not just a guest appearance but something that could lead to a match during WWE Crown Jewel.
During an eight-man tag match, Fury had a staredown with WWE Superstar Braun Strowman. Since then, WWE has announced that Fury will be a guest during this Monday’s RAW where he will be given an open mic.
Fury has also gone on social media to comment about the incident with Strowman on SmackDown. Fury states that he had gone to SmackDown, with his family, for his son’s 8th birthday. He claims that Strowman’s action during the show was an insult.
“I was insulted in front of my whole family by Braun Strowman. It got a little bit heated and we saw what happened, so I’ve been invited to an open mic session on Monday Night Raw. I accept. I’ll be there, but if Braun Strowman doesn’t behave himself, he’ll get some of these hands. You big dosser!” says Fury in his Tweet.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan is for Strowman and Fury to meet in the ring and it’s likely that this will take place during the Crown Jewel event set to take place in Saudi Arabia on October 31.
They do note, however, that the match between Strownman and Fury during Crown Jewel isn’t “official” but it is the prevailing talk.
TalkSports’ Alex McCarthy also reported on Fury’s possible Crown Jewel appearance, stating that his sources told him Fury will be in Saudi Arabia with the WWE.
As we previously reported, another guest appearance during the SmackDown premiere, that of Cain Velasquez is already confirmed to lead to a match at Crown Jewel. He is set to face current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar during the event.
