Ruby Riott hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the spring when she was forced out of action when it was revealed that she required shoulder surgery. The former leader of The Riott Squad then underwent double surgery as her return date to the ring remained undetermined and WWE stated that the star would be out of action indefinitely.
Recent reports from PWInsider revealed that Riott has been rehabbing her injury over the past few months and was recently spotted at WWE’s Performance Center where she trained with fellow WWE star and daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering, Rachel Evers.
Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan have done very little over the past few months in the absence of Riott and last night was the first time both Logan and Morgan were on the same episode of RAW since the spring. The Riott Squad split when Morgan was moved over to SmackDown, but it appears that Paul Heyman saw some potential and called her back to RAW for the Lana/Bobby Lashley storyline.
Ruby Riott has missed almost a year of action in WWE and it appears that she may be a surprise entrant in the upcoming Women’s Royal Rumble match. Riott was likely at WWE’s Performance Center so that the company can evaluate her progress following surgery, but it’s unlikely that she wouldn’t be able to return for a small spot in the match regardless of her condition.
Nia Jax also underwent double ACL surgery in early 2019, following her loss back at WrestleMania but is another expected Rumble returnee given that her return date was originally set as January 2020. Fellow main roster star Ember Moon suffered a torn Achilles at the end of 2019 and isn’t expected to make her return to the ring until much later in the year.
