This week on Monday Night RAW, Apollo Crews won his first WWE Title by defeating Andrade for the United States Championship in singles action. The grand victory came five years after his first appearance on NXT.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that the reason why it took Crews so long to win the gold is that Vince McMahon had previously given up on the talented Superstar. Before Mr. McMahon had given up on him, Crews was seen as someone who would become a big name in the company.

“Yea, everybody thought he was gonna be a big star until he started and then they thought he couldn’t do it because Vince gave up on him. Remember, they rushed him onto the main roster right away.”

Crews’ career has had a huge turnaround ever since Paul Heyman took him under his wings on RAW. However, it remains to be seen for how long WWE plans to keep the US Title on Crews.

“I have no faith…we’ll see where it goes. Andrade may beat him next week.”

Crews will defend the title against a mystery opponent next week on RAW. It remains to be seen how long Crews gets to enjoy his status as a reigning champion.

On the other hand, the impending Sasha Banks vs Bayley feud has reportedly been postponed yet again. The coronavirus pandemic has forced WWE to cancel/postpone a lot of plans and the highly anticipated SmackDown Title match between The Boss and The Role Model is no exception.

WrestleTalk reports that WWE had originally planned Banks vs Bayley for SummerSlam. But now the company wants to postpone the feud and extend it instead of executing the plan they had for “the past few months.” The other reason for this delay is due to the uncertainty regarding SummerSlam’s location.

We’ve also been told that part of the reason for delaying Banks and Bayley’s match is because of the location that SummerSlam was set to take place.

Relocating SummerSlam from Boston means Banks won’t be getting the big hometown pop which explains why WWE has decided to postpone the face-off.
