Retribution, the heel stable consisting of five Superstars, had a strong debut on RAW but all of that won’t matter anymore as the group has reportedly lost their push in the company.
Mustafa Ali’s revelation as the leader of Retribution was perhaps the last positive thing to have happened to the faction. Since then, the group has suffered one loss after another and the WWE Universe is still waiting for Ali & Co. to pick up their first legitimate win on RAW.
According to Ringside News, the reason why Retribution has suddenly lost momentum is solely due to the fact that Vince McMahon is no longer interested in pushing the heel group.
The pattern is similar to how The Chairman of the Board has been cold to certain Superstars despite pushing them strongly initially.
A member of the WWE creative team noted the following:
“Retribution is the victim of same thing everyone else is a victim of here. Lack of focus at the very top.”
The entire Retribution faction consists of superstars favored by Paul Heyman, but now that McMahon and Bruce Prichard are the ones pulling the strings, it remains to be seen for how long the group can stay relevant on the red brand.
