For over a month, Erick Rowan has been decimating local enhancement talents on Monday Night RAW as the WWE Universe continues to speculate what kind of ‘creature’ resides in his secret cage. Rowan’s recent gimmick of carrying around his mysterious friend in a cage has gained a lot of attention while buying WWE enough time to establish him as a top heel.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Big Red could be in line for a big WrestleMania spot given Vince McMahon himself is “heavily behind” his ongoing singles push.
“Right now they are giving big pushes to Drew McIntyre, Erick Rowan and Aleister Black on television. We do know McMahon is heavily behind a Rowan push.”
“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt successfully defended the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan last month at Survivor Series. A week later on RAW, the masked monster dragged Bryan down the ring and pulled out his hair. At TLC, Bryan returned with his American Dragon look and laid waste to Wyatt after his title victory over The Miz.
The Observer is reporting that Bryan will challenge Wyatt for the Universal Title at WWE’s first pay-per-view of 2020, Royal Rumble.
“Daniel Bryan is expected to win the shot at Bray Wyatt and the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble.”
The American Dragon will collide with The Miz and King Corbin in a Triple Threat match to determine the #1 Contender for the big red belt tonight on SmackDown. It’s safe to assume that Bryan will wrestle The Fiend and not a jovial Wyatt at Royal Rumble in order to draw a conclusion to their blood feud ahead of WrestleMania season.
The latest rumors suggest that WWE is currently planning Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend at WrestleMania 36, meaning Bryan has absolutely zero chance to dethrone Wyatt next month.
