Vince McMahon Interested In Two NXT Stars, Why This Weeks 205 Live Was Cancelled

Vince McMahon Interested In Riddle and Lee

Paul Davis, of Wrestling News.com, is reporting that Vince McMahon is a big fan of two current NXT superstars – Matt Riddle and Keith Lee.

While there is no news yet of when, if ever, there will be a round of NXT call up’s, Davis speculates that these two will probably make their way to either RAW or SmackDown soon given as they’ve caught the eye of McMahon.

McMahon is said to like Riddle and has compared the outspoken former MMA fighter to Shawn Michaels in his youth.

“Vince like guys like Shawn who have that rebel mentality and he sees some of Shawn in Matt,” writes Davis, quoting a source.

“Matt can rub some people the wrong way but he’s a good guy and he will do great when Vince calls him up. I think he’s a future world champion. Vince will try to tweak him but his personality will get him far,” he continues.

McMahon has also been overheard praising Lee who he feels could be a powerhouse heel on the main roster. Lee is also universally liked by the locker room and creative, so he has people behind him who could give him a good push.

Explanation For Last Minute Cancellation Of This Weeks 205 Live

205 Live was cancelled last minute this week, in a move that displeased the talent and worried fans of the cruiserweight division.

This is the second time this year that WWE decided last minute to not have a 205 Live show. The Cruiserweight Title was also recently rebranded and is now called the NXT Cruiserweight Title and is also featured during Wednesday’s NXT shows. This has fans speculating that the 205 Live show and brand is going to be dropped.

According to Ryan Satin of the Pro Wrestling Sheet, however, fans of 205 Live don’t have to worry as the reason it was cancelled last week was merely because of the NXT invasion, led by DX, on SmackDown. He assures people that the show isn’t going to be cancelled.
