Last month, Matt Riddle made his main roster debut on SmackDown and immediately took on reigning Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles in a non-title match. The King Of Bros pinned The Phenomenal One to mark his grand arrival on the blue brand.
Riddle recently suffered damages to his reputation due to the #SpeakingOut movement, but that apparently hasn’t affected his push by any means. Everything seems to be in The Original Bro’s favor thus far.
WrestlingNews reports that Riddle hasn’t had any issues since moving to SmackDown. He has gotten along with his colleagues backstage and is enjoying his time on the main roster. Moreover, Mr. McMahon is high on Riddle and allows him “to give more input for his promos than most.”
Riddle’s rebel persona makes The Chairman Of Board compare him to a “young Shawn Michaels.”
“Vince likes guys like Shawn who have that rebel mentality and he sees some of Shawn in Matt. Matt can rub some people the wrong way but he’s a good guy and he will do great when Vince calls him up. I think he’s a future world champion. Vince will try to tweak him but his personality will get him far.”
Could Riddle be the next big thing on the main roster?
