Otis was the shock victor in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match when he caught the case rather than actually climbing the ladder to retrieve it.
The win has put WWE’s creative team in a bizarre position since Otis has been unable to cash in on any of the company’s World Champions because it wouldn’t have made a believable storyline for the WWE Universe.
It has been reported in recent weeks that the company is looking to take the case off Otis and possibly hand it over to The Miz instead, but this may not be the case.
According to a new report from WrestleVotes, there have been many decent pitches from WWE’s creative team for Otis to lose his contract but because Vince McMahon is a huge fan of the star, the idea is a no go at present.
Recently, Otis was being sued by The Miz on SmackDown after humiliating him and he has already lost Mandy Rose to Monday Night RAW.
The storyline between Miz and Otis seems to be leading towards a conclusion at some point but at present WWE’s Creative team has no plans to take the Money in the Bank contract away from Otis.
