Billie Kay and Peyton Royce returned to WWE TV after a lengthy hiatus last week and stepped straight back into the title picture. The former Women’s Tag Team Champions looked to reclaim the titles in a match with Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss this week on Raw, but Royce got a little too frustrated and was disqualified when she refused to stop throwing Bliss into the ring post.
It could be argued that Kay would have probably been pinned off the Twisted Bliss if Royce hadn’t interfered, but this was the duo’s one shot at the titles and they were obviously upset with how the match ended. Kay blamed Royce and slapped her as part of a backstage segment following the match, which has lead to speculation that the company could be looking to split the duo.
Kay recently appeared on The Bump where she put those rumors to bed and made it clear that the duo was still focused on the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
“I’m gonna say this once and then move on from it. That was our first fight in 15 years of friendship. Our first fight ever and it just so happens that it was televised for the whole world to see.”
“On Monday night our emotions just got the better of us. Peyton got frustrated during the match and then I got frustrated after the match. I think what we need to focus on isn’t the fight it’s what happens after that. It’s us embracing each other. It’s us saying that we love each other and that we’re sorry because at the end of the day we want to become two-time tag team champions and that’s still a goal for us.”
Bray Wyatt hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since he was defeated by Braun Strowman at Money in the Bank but it appears that the company could have a plan for The Fiend following his loss. Even though Sister Abigail hasn’t played a huge role in Wyatt’s newest character change, Abby The Witch is thought to be Sister Abigail and the company recently made it clear that they haven’t given up on the character.
EWrestlingNews recently reported that WWE had filed a trademark for Sister Abigail a few days ago, which could be a hint that the company is looking to bring the character back.
