WWE Hall of Famer Edge Has Reportedly Signed a New Contract Ahead Of An In-Ring Return

WWE Hall of Famer Edge left the company back in 2011 when it was revealed that he was struggling with Cervical Spinal Stenosis, something which meant that his career had to be put on hold indefinitely.

The following year, Edge was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and left the ring in order to pursue a career in the acting industry. The Rated R Superstar never left WWE behind, he returned a number of times, once to help The Authority back into power when he was threatened by Seth Rollins and once again when Becky Lynch was on the rise as “The Man” so Edge had to have her on The Cutting Edge.

Earlier this year, by something short of a miracle, it was revealed that Edge had been able to be cleared to make his return to the ring, but a few things had changed since his last spell. Edge now has a wife and two little girls, so many fans believed that he wouldn’t be open to a return, even though his wife currently works for NXT.

Edge did make a shock appearance at SummerSlam back in August, where he proved that he was fit to fight again by delivering a spear to Elias.

PWInsider is currently reporting that Edge has recently signed a new contract with WWE that allows him to make an in-ring return and the speculation is that he could be a surprise entrant in the upcoming 2020 Royal Rumble match in order to set up a program at WrestleMania.

“We’ve heard that Edge signed a new deal with WWE that has a pretty nice upside.”

“My gut feeling is we’ll see Edge in the Royal Rumble as a surprise (as that seems like the perfect place to make a big splash with a return for Wrestlemania season) and possibly even see him do a few matches on major events,” via Ringsidenews.
