NXT has been streamed on Wednesday Nights since it became a Network exclusive show a number of years ago.
Last year, The USA Network began streaming WWE’s developmental brand on a Wednesday night, and the show then because two hours instead of one. This came merely a week before All Elite Wrestling debuted on a Wednesday night on TNT and over the past year, there has been a war when it comes to ratings between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT.
NXT had the edge throughout Survivor Series season last year, but since November it’s been AEW who have come out on top more often than not and this could now lead to WWE moving NXT.
WWE has tried a number of moves to improve their ratings including bringing the likes of Charlotte Flair and Finn Balor back to NXT but that hasn’t been enough to top AEW.
According to a report by WrestleVotes, the next two weeks will be important because the company is looking at the ratings and could decide to move.
Last night’s NXT special was aired on Tuesday night and it appears that the company got better ratings because they weren’t in a war with AEW.
The move would also allow wrestling fans to watch all of the shows that are presented to them live because at present NXT and AEW go head to head which means that neutral fans are forced to make a decision.
