Matt Riddle is one of the most entertaining guys to ever step foot in the cage, ring and on social media.
The former UFC star has been well received by fans ever since his NXT debut in 2018. Riddle is yet to win his first title in NXT/WWE but that hasn’t stopped him from taking shots at multi-time elite World Champions, namely Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg.
Riddle has taken multiple shots at Lesnar ever since his arrival in NXT – The Original Bro plans to retire The Beast in singles action at WrestleMania. And now the NXT star has shifted his focus to Goldberg, the very man who holds a 2-1 record over Lesnar.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE hasn’t told Riddle to fire shots at Lesnar and Goldberg but the company isn’t asking the young talent to stop either.
“He is fine. They are happy. I don’t know that they have actually told him to do this, but they are not unhappy that he’s doing it and he’s not been told to stop and some people think he was told to do it. I don’t know if that’s really the case, he certainly hasn’t been told to stop and they’re not unhappy at all. I’ve heard they’re very happy actually.”
The pro wrestling world was excited when Riddle recently trolled Goldberg on Twitter shortly after the WCW-WWE had blocked him on the platform.
While Lesnar vs. Riddle is expected to happen at WrestleMania 36, it’s not clear whether WWE would actually head in that direction. Recent rumors indicate that The King Of Bros would be crashing The Beast’s Money In The Contract cash-in at WWE Super ShowDown, and if that happens, then a dream match between the two cross-over athletes could be finally upon us – as early as next year!
