WWE has made several changes to their plans for WrestleMania 36 due to the unforeseen circumstances arising out of the coronavirus pandemic. Many Superstars have been pulled from the 36th edition of the Show of Shows with the company shaking up the originally planned bouts for the grand show.
The Miz is among the select Superstars who is likely going to miss WrestleMania this year. The reigning one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champion reportedly showed up for ‘Mania taping while sick which thrust the entire locker room in a panic mode.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that instead of canceling the SmackDown Title defense overall, WWE may proceed with a unique never-seen-before stipulation for the match.
“The triple threat ladder match for the SmackDown tag team titles at WrestleMania 36 could end up playing out with just one member of each team wrestling.”
According to the original card, The Miz and John Morrison will defend the tag team gold against The Usos and The New Day in a Triple Threat Ladder Match.
However, a recent tweet from former Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder has raised concerns regarding The A-Lister’s sickness including the responsibilities of the talents when it comes to social distancing at this moment of crisis.
“Buddy Murphy, who wasn’t in the match but he was going to be in Seth Rollins‘ corner, Buddy Murphy was sick. Miz was sick. A lot of people brought up that photo with Miz, Morrison, was it Zack Ryder and Chelsea Green like from that week?”
As previously reported, Miz’s sickness may have upset The Usos which in turn caused Roman Reigns to pull himself from WrestleMania. The Big Dog has been replaced by Braun Strowman in the Universal Championship match against Bill Goldberg.
WrestleMania 36 will air as a two-night pre-recorded event on April 4th and 5th.
