WWE Reportedly Botched the Ending of Monday Night Raw This Week

Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw was main evented by the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee.

While the match was easily a candidate for Match Of The Year on the first episode of the show in 2021, it also meant that WWE ran into some major timing issues.

The match over-ran which meant that when Drew McIntyre picked up the microphone at the end of his match ready to deliver a promo to the WWE legends, Goldberg was sent out.

According to The Wrestling Observer, this is why Goldberg’s promo didn’t make any sense. The former Universal Champion was sent out because WWE knew that they were running out of time and needed to ensure that he got his Royal Rumble challenge in before the show went off the air.

The site goes on to note that McIntyre should have cut a promo where he belittled the WWE legends, but he didn’t and he hadn’t had any kind of altercation with the returning stars all night.

This meant that when Goldberg accused him of belittling the legends, many fans wondered where this came from since Randy Orton was the man who was legend-hunting all night.

It appears that the current plan is for Goldberg to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in just over three weeks at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
