WWE Reportedly Changed Plans for Big E’s Singles Push

Big E received a much-awaited singles run after WWE decided to push him into the singles division after Xavier Woods’ and Kofi Kingston’s injuries.

Big E initially debuted as a singles star but WWE decided to pair him up with Woods and Kingston in what became the legendary New Day.

According to Ringside News, WWE weren’t putting too much thought into the run initially as his singles run was viewed as a necessity due to the injuries. However, Big E’s work has been impressive so far which has made WWE change the plans for the superstar.

Big E defeated former WWE Champion Sheamus at Payback earlier this week, which was a huge sign of big things to come for the superstar.

Big E has won the Intercontinental Championship in the past and was also the second-ever NXT Champion, which proves his credentials in the singles division.

Big E will be competing in the Number One contender’s match on SmackDown this week against King Corbin, Sheamus, and Matt Riddle, and has a great chance of winning and going on to face Reigns for the Universal Championship.

As far as New Day’s breakup is concerned, several reports have confirmed that it won’t be taking place, but a singles push for Big E is set in motion.
