Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt locked Alexa Bliss in a Mandible Claw to close out the show. The angle shocked the WWE Universe and millions were left wondering what’s in store for Little Miss Bliss.
Following the attack, there were rumors that Bliss would be unveiled as Sister Abigail en route to SummerSlam.
This isn’t the first time that Alexa has been linked to Sister Abigail. The on-going rumors first stemmed from Bliss’ cameo appearance during the Swamp Fight at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
According to Tom Colohue, WWE has absolutely no intention to introduce Bliss as Sister Abigail. The Fiend’s attack on Bliss was simply a careful strategy to spice up the Universal Championship feud for SummerSlam.
“There has been speculation that Alexa Bliss will be Sister Abigail. That is not the case, I’m hearing that way too much. At the moment, the whole concept is that Bliss was attacked by the Fiend because the Fiend is calling out Braun Strowman.”
“He is attacking someone that Braun Strowman cares a lot about because there are not many people that Braun Strowman has been established as caring about. He is not someone who has many friends openly as it were. For me, it has certainly made the feud a lot more interesting because this has been going on since right after WrestleMania. It needed a shot in the arm.”
Following last week’s conclusion, WWE announced that Wyatt will be back for another Firefly Fun House segment on the upcoming episode of The Blue Show. It’s expected that the WWE Universe will get an update on the immediate future of The Goddess during the segment.
It’s likely that Braun Strowman will seek retribution this Friday night and fans should expect a couple more twists before the inevitable title showdown at SummerSlam.
