WWE Reportedly Not Planning Women’s Elimination Chamber Match This Year

Elimination Chamber is set to take place next weekend and WWE has already started to announce the card.

This week on Raw, the company announced that Drew McIntyre would defend the WWE Championship inside Elimination Chamber against Sheamus, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, and AJ Styles while Asuka will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans.

Bobby Lashley will also be defending his United States Championship against both Riddle and Keith Lee. This week on SmackDown, more matches are expected to be made official but reports from RingSideNews suggest that the company is not planning a Women’s Chamber match this year.

In recent years, the women have competed inside the structure with the Women’s Tag Team Championships being unveiled back in 2019 and Shayna Baszler dominating the structure last year.

The report suggests that WWE is still planning two Chamber matches this year which has become tradition, but they will both be matches for male Championships.

More will become clear on SmackDown tomorrow night since it’s likely that the Universal Championship could also be defended inside the Chamber or Big E’s Intercontinental Championship.

At present, there aren’t enough contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship to expect those to be defended inside the structure once again.
