WWE Reportedly Planned a Mixed Tag Team Match for WrestleMania 37

The Road to WrestleMania begins in less than two months’ time and already there are several rumors regarding matches for WWE’s biggest show of the year.

While the current plan looks as though it will be Randy Orton vs Edge as part of WrestleMania 37, the original plans were a little different.

According to WrestleVotes, Edge vs The Fiend was one of the plans that were discussed for the show and has been seen as an option for the creative team.

In an update to this rumor, the site revealed earlier today that the idea came from the initial suggestion that Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss could be part of a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania.

This led to the creative team throwing around potential opponents for the strange duo and one of the couples was Edge and his wife Beth Phoenix.

The WWE Hall of Famer has wrestled numerous times on WWE TV since her return but currently plies her trade as a commentator on NXT.

These matches are now seen as “unlikely” according to the Tweet, but it’s interesting to see that WWE is looking to put Wyatt and Bliss together on The Grandest Stage of them All and could have them against some interesting competition.

Edge vs Randy Orton remains the plan at present which means that The Fiend’s match is still up in the air.
