WWE Reportedly Setting Up Huge Championship Match For Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre has already defended his WWE Championship against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley since winning the title back at WrestleMania. McIntyre was able to defeat Brock Lesnar to become Champion and The Beast hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, Drew McIntyre is expected to defend his Championship against Randy Orton at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda has also reported that the plan is for The Scottish Psychopath to be part of a rematch against Lesnar in his return match.

Colohue noted that there were rumors about Orton challenging McIntyre, but revealed that his sources state that a WrestleMania rematch is “expected.”

Last night on Raw, McIntyre accepted Dolph Ziggler’s challenge for a WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules.

The two stars were once working together on the Raw roster but Ziggler seemed to believe that McIntyre made it big without him. Ziggler claimed that he was owed a Championship match and McIntyre seemed to reluctantly agree.

This is a match that McIntyre is expected to win, but when SummerSlam arrives in August, the WWE Universe should be back in attendance and The Beast Incarnate is one of the stars who is expected to make his return.
