Rey Mysterio is no longer under contract with WWE. His previous deal expired a month ago but he’s still appearing on WWE TV without any written contract. Mr. 619 has been involved in a mega feud with Seth Rollins that will likely culminate at The Horror Show At Extreme Rules.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that Mysterio’s previous deal is carrying over to the present date where he hasn’t signed any contract yet. The masked veteran is still making good money during this coronavirus pandemic.

“Mysterio has been working on the terms of his original 18 month contract.”

The fact that Mysterio is working without a contract proves just how much faith Vince McMahon has in him. Since the masked legend doesn’t have any contractual obligations towards WWE, he can walk out or appear in any rival promotion without any legal recourse.

Mysterio reportedly wanted a raise from Mr. McMahon but his request was declined. However, the former World Champion wants his son Dominick to succeed in WWE which is apparently the main reason for him sticking around and working faithfully without any contract.

It remains to be seen for how long Rey keeps working without a deal but rumors suggest that his Eye For An Match against Rollins at Extreme Rules would be his final outing with WWE.
