The Stone Cold Podcast was one of the most popular shows on the WWE Network at one point, but this came to an end after just a handful of episodes which included Paul Heyman, Paige and a controversial episode with Dean Ambrose.

The show ended back in 2016 and Austin has since been featured on WWE TV a number of times especially in the build-up to his new show “Straight Up Steve Austin.” Given that the star is one of the best-known Hall of Famers in WWE history, so it comes as no surprise that WWE is looking to bring his show back after a more than three-year absence.

According to a report by Wrestlevotes, WWE is hoping to bring back the show with a new name but the same style. Austin has quite a knack for interviewing top stars and bringing out some interesting news stories since this was where the rumor about Austin vs Brock Lesnar in a Texas Death Match actually came from.

It was also the platform that allowed Dean Ambrose to talk about the background to his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, something that got both Ambrose and Austin in some trouble with WWE.

Austin last appeared on WWE TV as the neutral figure as Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman signed their contract for their Universal Championship match at Clash of Champions a few months ago. Austin went on to deliver a stunner to AJ Styles when he decided to involve himself in the segment, which could be a hint at who his first guest on the podcast might actually be.

The show isn’t expected to debut until 2020 since Austin is currently working on other projects, but it could be a fantastic way for WWE to build some new rivalries and get some stories out there using the Network.
