WWE Still Hopeful About CM Punk vs Seth Rollins & Sasha Banks vs Bayley At WrestleMania 36

On Monday Night RAW, Buddy Murphy officially joined the Seth Rollins-AOP heel alliance after subduing The Big Show and assisting the trio to stand tall over Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and The Giant.

Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue reports that the unlikely union of Murphy and Rollins could potentially lead them to a singles match at WrestleMania 36. However, WWE still hasn’t decided who The Monday Night Messiah would be facing at the Showcase Of Immortals in hopes that CM Punk might return at the very last minute for the showdown, fans actually want to see.

“I don’t personally see this faction lasting particularly long at WrestleMania we are probably going to see The Authors of Pain against The Viking Raiders. Seth Rollins‘ match isn’t set in stone right now because the company do want to leave it open just in case CM Punk does make that phone call, Rollins is the opponent they would rather have him face or it could be that we end up with Rollins versus Murphy if that phone call isn’t made. So this faction could implode pretty much at any time.”

WWE is also hopeful of yet another fan-favorite matchup at WrestleMania 36 despite being clueless about the possible route that would lead to that bout. Last year, Sasha Banks and Bayley wrestled side by side at the grand event, but the besties could potentially tear each other apart this time around.

According to Colohue, WWE is currently disappointed in being unable to initiate the build for the Banks vs Bayley WrestleMania feud.

“There is a disappointment among WWE management that they haven’t managed to make that match happen yet. This is something they really want to see happen. This is something both women really want to see happen… and it could be sort of be a crowning achievement for Bayley, who has been up and down on the roster so far.”

It was further reported that The Boss could still win the Royal Rumble and proceed to challenge the SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 36.

However, WWE might add Alexa Bliss to the mix, making it a Triple Threat title showdown although The Goddess is more likely to go after the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Nikki Cross.
