Fresh off the 4th of July Independence Day holiday, WWE could be debuting a brand new United States Championship Title tonight on RAW.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is ready to unveil the brand new design of the US Title at the Performance Center tonight.
A few months ago, WWE debuted the re-designed Intercontinental Championship and the US Title appears to be the next strap to undergo a makeover. The belt reportedly sports a clean yet prestigious look.
To date, 97 different wrestlers have held the US Championship with Apollo Crews being the latest titleholder.
WWE has always portrayed the title as a mid-card prize, but the strap actually has a rich history. The US Title originated in the NWA and the inaugural champion was Harley Race. The gold was later assumed by WCW.
At present, Crews happens to be the first man to enjoy the re-designed US Title in case WWE unveils the new strap ahead of The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
So far, the company hasn’t booked the title for their upcoming PPV, but it’s obvious that the mid-card belt will be defended on July 19th among other championships.
Whether or not the re-design will push the US Title to the forefront of WWE TV remains to be seen.
