WWE Money in the Bank 2019 airs from <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="XL Center, Hartford, Connecticut (opens in a new tab)" href="http://www.xlcenter.com/" target="_blank">XL Center, Hartford, Connecticut</a> on May 19th. The pay-per-view will be available live on WWE Network from 7pm ET / 4pm PT. There are some interesting matches this year including a first time ever match between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles. You can read the storyline building up to each of the matches in the Money in the Bank 2019 match card.



The following Money in the Bank 2019 matches are officially confirmed so far.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Daniel Bryan &amp; Rowan vs The Usos</h2>

Lacey Evans and Becky Lynch started their interesting feud the night after WrestleMania when The Sassy Southern Belle finally made a move towards the Women&#8217;s Champion. Evans is someone that Vince McMahon is reportedly hot on and it&#8217;s easy to see why since she has a fantastic gimmick and pulls it off on WWE TV very well.

Evans hasn&#8217;t impressed the WWE Universe on her past few outings since the former NXT star has had a number of botch issues in the ring, but it&#8217;s thought that she stands a real chance of defeating Lynch this weekend at Money in the Bank. 



Depending on which Women&#8217;s Championship match goes first, Evans might be handed Lynch following a match against The Queen which would make her job that much easier. The likelihood of Lynch walking out of Money in the Bank with both Championships is severely slim, and if you&#8217;re a betting person then Evans is definitely one to put money on.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair</h2>

Becky 2 Belts will be forced to pull double duty Sunday night against someone who she has definitely become familiar with over the years. Lynch and her fellow Four Horsewoman team-mate, Charlotte Flair, have had a number of battles over the years, with their most recent coming back at WrestleMania when Ronda Rousey was also part of the bout.

Lynch pinned Rousey to win Flair&#8217;s title, which is why The Queen has been handed this rematch but since Charlotte could become a nine-time Women&#8217;s Champion with a victory here, it&#8217;s unlikely that she will be the one having her hand raised in Connecticut weekend. 



Becky isn&#8217;t without her challengers on the SmackDown Live roster after Charlotte steps aside, so it&#8217;s likely that this one could have the same outcome as their WrestleMania match.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Universal Championship: Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles</h2>

The fantasy match that the WWE Universe has been waiting for is now taking place at a B level pay-per-view, but it appears that the build up has been so good that none of the WWE Universe have noticed. Seth Rollins and AJ Styles haven&#8217;t crossed paths in more than 13 years and now finally the two stars will do battle over the Universal Championship at Money in the Bank.

AJ Styles was the one who punched Rollins in the face during their contract signing and then left The Champion high and dry last week so he was pinned by Baron Corbin, so Rollins will definitely be out for revenge when the two stand across from each other in the ring Sunday night. 



This rivalry is expected to take both men all the way to SummerSlam so there could be an interesting end to this showdown.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston vs Kevin Owens</h2>

The only reason that Kofi Kingston is defending his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens is because Daniel Bryan has been out injured since WrestleMania and the SmackDown Live brand has struggled to push forward a believable heel in that time.

Owens was on the same side as The New Day the week after WrestleMania, but Big O turned his back on his team mates just a week later when he attacked Kingston in the middle of the ring. Owens has also left his mark on Xavier Woods and was the reason that Kingston was forced to head over to Raw on his own this past week.



Owens does seem to have Kingston&#8217;s number but the fact that the former Universal Champion already lost his WWE Championship match back at Fastlane means that it&#8217;s not likely that there will be a Championship change Sunday night.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Roman Reigns vs Elias</h2>

Roman Reigns and Elias have had issues ever since The Big Dog first appeared on SmackDown Live a few weeks ago. Reigns was supposed to be SmackDown&#8217;s biggest acquisition but it was Elias who came out with Vince McMahon and the duo seemingly believed that Elias was the star that The Blue Brand had been missing.

This led to Roman Reigns taking down Vince McMahon and then entering a feud with Elias and Shane McMahon based on his actions. Elias has been attacked by John Cena and The Undertaker in recent weeks as the build towards Saudi Arabia in June reaches its peak momentum, but right now he has to focus on The Big Dog who has a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove at Money in the Bank.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Steel Cage Match: The Miz vs Shane McMahon</h2>

The Miz and Shane McMahon were once Tag Team Champions, it appears that these two men have been through a lot since The Miz lost their titles to The Usos back at Elimination Chamber and it left Shane McMahon full of anger so great that he attacked his own partner.

Their match at WrestleMania saw McMahon injured The Miz&#8217;s real-life father as their Falls Count Anywhere fight boiled over to the outside. The finish of the match saw The Miz suplexed off the stage structure where he lost the match, but this definitely wasn&#8217;t the end of their feud. 



The A-Lister was moved over to Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago but that hasn&#8217;t stopped him and Shane from invading each other&#8217;s show to make a statement ahead of their steel cage showdown.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Women&#8217;s Money In The Bank Ladder Match</h2>

The third annual Women&#8217;s Money in the Bank ladder match takes place weekend and the women have the impressive statistic that both former winners have been successful. Alexa Bliss and Carmella are once again part of the match this year and could both be about to make history as part of the eight-woman lineup.



The Women&#8217;s Money in the Bank ladder match is wide open right now since any of the women could win it, the most likely scenario is for Mandy Rose to pick up the victory since she is seen as a future star in the SmackDown Women&#8217;s Division, but given the way she made her way into the match and the fact that this is no-DQ, Sonya Deville could play an important part. 



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Men&#8217;s Money In The Bank Ladder Match</h2>

Braun Strowman, Randy Orton and Baron Corbin are all previous winners of the Money in the Bank ladder match, with only Orton knowing the feeling of a successful cash-in. It&#8217;s a talented field once again this year as both Raw and SmackDown are represented, but the two big names in the match are thought to be Drew McIntyre and Andrade.

Vince McMahon is reportedly hot on both men and both have been pushed towards the height of the company in recent months, with Drew coming up short in his quest to face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship this weekend. McIntyre has had an interesting few months and a victory with the Money in the Bank contract could be exactly what he needs to re-ignite his career.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">United States Championship: Samoa Joe vs Rey Mysterio</h2>

Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe faced off for the United States Championship back at <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="WrestleMania 35 (opens in a new tab)" href="https://api.wrestlingworld.co/reviews/wrestlemania-35-results-review-and-highlights/" target="_blank">WrestleMania 35</a> in a match that was reportedly so short because Mysterio suffered an ankle injury in the build up. It was thought that Mysterio&#8217;s son Dominick would play a vital role in the match after he was brought into the company leading into The Biggest Event of the Year, but he wasn&#8217;t given the chance.



Mysterio has seemingly recovered from the injury and will now take on Samoa Joe with his son expected to be at ringside. This could be the former World Champion&#8217;s chance to pick up his first piece of gold since his WWE return, but Samoa Joe is an expert at playing mind games and now that The Master of The 619 has brought his son into the equation, he could have more to lose than Joe Sunday night.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Tony Nese vs Ariya Daivari</h2>

Tony Nese shocked the world back at WrestleMania when he was able to defeat Buddy Murphy to win the Cruiserweight Championship. Murphy has since moved over to SmackDown Live and looks like he&#8217;s stepping into a feud with Ali moving forward. This means that Nese has had to look for a new challenger and he&#8217;s been found in the form of Ariya Daivari.



Daivari has had a point to prove ever since he made his way over to WWE as part of The Cruiserweight Classic. Daivari has been living in his older brother&#8217;s shadow and this weekend is the time for him to finally step out of the shadows and claim his first piece of gold in WWE.
