Dean Ambrose could still be leaving WWE post-WrestleMania 35.
Over the weekend, WWE speculated that Ambrose would continue his stay post-April 7 due to the returning Roman Reigns‘ assurance of convincing his Shield-mate to re-sign a new deal with the company.
Per Dave Meltzer, backstage personnel are of the opinion that nothing has changed at present and Ambrose’s status is the same as it was a few weeks ago when WWE officially announced that he would be departing after WrestleMania i.e. The Shield’s Most Chaotic Member is still firm on his decision to leave the company.
WrestlingNews reports that Vince McMahon is considering Reigns vs. Ambrose at WrestleMania 35 and that would be the last match in The Lunatic’s current stint with WWE unless he decides to sign a new contract.
If Dean fails to change his mind and WWE decides to proceed with that plan, then fans can expect the match to be set up this Sunday at Fastlane or the following night on RAW.
At this point, The Shield is booked in a match against Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at Fastlane.
While Seth Rollins is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, WWE is yet to book Reigns and Ambrose for April 7. This could perhaps be the opening for Vince to book the two Hounds against each other on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
Ambrose quitting WWE next month is a strong signal that he may end up signing with All Elite Wrestling. The Moral Compass currently resides in Las Vegas, the home for AEW’s upcoming May 25th event “Double Or Nothing”.
