Daniel Bryan has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania. While he has reportedly been cleared to return to the ring, there has yet to be any official word on what medical issue resulted in him being pulled from WWE events.

Bryan lost the WWE Championship to Kofi Kingston and, according to original plans, was to face Kingston again during Money In The Bank. However, his undisclosed injury resulted in a change of plans and now, Kevin Owens is set to challenge Kingston at Money In Bank.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s likely that Bryan sustained a concussion and given Bryan’s past history the WWE was erring on the side of caution by not allowing him to perform.

According to Dave Meltzer, while the concussion is worrying, it’s actually a good sign that it’s taken so long for Bryan to get one since he returned last year. He also noted that it was a positive sign that Bryan got cleared within a matter of weeks.
