Finn Balor hasn’t had the best run on the main roster. Over the past few years the former NXT Champion excelled in developmental, before he was called up as part of the first WWE Draft back in 2016.

Balor then went on to main event Monday Night Raw and book his place in the main event of SummerSlam that year, where he became the first ever Universal Champion.

Sadly, this was the height of his success, Balor was forced to relinquish the Championship the following day through injury and has since not come close to reclaiming it.

Instead, he has been made part of feuds with the likes of Baron Corbin and Seth Rollins in recent years that haven’t been very fruitful for the star.

It was thought that Balor would have been pushed towards the Universal Championship back at the Royal Rumble, but reports suggested that the former Champion wasn’t seen as “over enough” to be in the same conversation as Brock Lesnar for a pay-per-view main event, which could be why that never came into fruition.

Balor has since made fun of this suggestion online but has remained as part of the mid-card for the entirety of 2018.

According to the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Finn Balor is set for a huge push on the main roster in the coming weeks, which will be exciting for fans of the former NXT Champion, since WWE has seemingly lacked plans for him throughout the course of 2018.

With Royal Rumble merely weeks away and WrestleMania on the horizon, this could be a fantastic time of year for Finn Balor to be pushed into the main event picture.
