Roman Reigns wrestled his first singles match at WrestleMania 35 since his return to WWE after putting leukemia in remission.
On Sunday night, Reigns pinned Drew McIntyre in front of 82,265 fans at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
With WrestleMania 35 now in the rearview mirror, Reigns’ new storyline could kick off as early as next week which means that a new opponent must be lined up for The Big Dog.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Baron Corbin could be Reigns’ first rival post-WrestleMania 35.
“It looks like Baron Corbin is being groomed for Roman Reigns, which least explains his win over Kurt [Angle],”
At WrestleMania, Corbin successfully defeated Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle in his farewell match, giving off a clear signal that WWE is heavily committed on building future stars instead of just handing victories to legends and strengthening their legacies.
On the other hand, Reigns is the second man (followed by Brock Lesnar) to ever pin The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
With The Big Dog and The Lone Wolf having achieved once in a lifetime milestones in their ongoing careers, it’s a given that these two stars are to collide sooner than later.
