The annual Royal Rumble match is now just over a month away and the rumors when it comes to surprise entrants and possible winners are coming in thick and fast.

Dave Meltzer recently decided to throw his hat in the ring on The Wrestling Observer when it comes to favorites for the match and named Seth Rollins as the potential winner of the match.

There are currently two scenarios that WWE is working on, one sees Seth Rollins drop his Intercontinental Championship this weekend and then go on to win the Royal Rumble and challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, but WWE could falter to a different plan.

Their second option sees Braun Strowman win the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre become the victor of the 2019 men’s Rumble match and then go on to challenge Strowman for the Universal Championship which will see McIntyre’s push go into overdrive.

WWE likes to change their plans at the last minute to confuse the WWE Universe, so it’s hard to say which option the creative team will choose.

It’s hard to deny the fact that the feud with Rollins and Ambrose hasn’t hit the heights that WWE expected, so maybe it’s better to pull the plug now rather than risk the two men’s popularity and allow them to branch off ahead of WrestleMania instead.

On the flip side, Drew McIntyre has been seen as one of the stars of the show in the future and it’s reported that Vince McMahon is hot on him right now.

The fact that McMahon always has the final say on everything in WWE means that if you were a betting person then it’s likely that Drew McIntyre could be the one chosen to win next year’s Rumble match.
