Sasha Banks‘s situation with WWE is in a “stalemate” right now.
As reported earlier, Banks attempted to quit WWE at WrestleMania 35 after finding out that she and Bayley would be dropping the Women’s Tag Team Titles to The IIconics at the event.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation while noting how the company plans to take things forward with The Boss.
“Sasha Banks, the situation is unchanged. They are right now at a stalemate and the word — of course you know how this goes — but the word is that if she wants to sit out the rest of her contract she can sit out the rest of her contract. Of course, if you know what that means.
She’s going to be sitting out forever because they’re going to add time for her not working so kinda — these contracts are very very difficult.”
Vince McMahon sent Banks on a holiday to cool her off post-WrestleMania. That might not have proved to be of much help as Corey Graves has taken every opportunity that he could to badmouth The Boss on commentary since then.
Meltzer further noted that although WWE still expects Sasha to return, the 4-time RAW Women’s Champion wants things to work out differently in the company.
“They have not made up yet. They still want her to come back. She wants things different. Whatever that difference is they haven’t agreed to it because she ain’t back so we’ll have to see.”
The Boss was reportedly frustrated after WWE split her from Bayley and moved The Hugger to SmackDown Live as part of this year’s Superstar Shake-Up.
Banks is also reported to emerge as this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank (May 19th). Click here to read more on that story.
