Erick Rowan has been on the sidelines ever since he and Luke Harper lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to The New Day on SmackDown following SummerSlam back in August.
The former Wyatt Family member suffered a torn bicep in their match at The Biggest Party of The Summer and The Bludgeon Brothers were then forced to drop the titles when it was revealed that Rowan would need surgery.
Harper was then sent down to NXT to work with a number of talents before he himself suffered an arm injury that has kept him sidelined over the past few months.
The two stars have since been forgotten in the SmackDown Tag Team Division, but were expected to make their return ahead of WrestleMania.
Interestingly, reports from PWInsider are now suggesting that both men have been cleared to make their return to WWE and could be used as early as next week’s SmackDown in Wichita, Kansas.
This would mean that both men could be added to the Royal Rumble next Sunday Night since WWE recently took Kalisto and Finn Balor out of the match and will now need two more replacements.
Balor will instead face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship while Kalisto was confirmed as a participant in the fatal four-way match for the Cruiserweight Championship. Balor and Kalisto previously confirmed their places in the Royal Rumble match.
Harper and Rowan are no strangers to Royal Rumble matches and if it is decided that they will be added to the match then it would be an excellent time for WWE to bring back Bray Wyatt and allow the three men to once again work together and tease a reunion inside the 30-man battle royal.
