It’s been an interesting few weeks for WWE with the rise of All Elite Wrestling overlooking the company. It appears that many superstars who are unhappy with their current status could now be looking to jump ship.

Finn Balor and AJ Styles were considered to be the most likely but now four superstars have requested their release in the past few days including The Revival, Maria and Mike Bennet.

Despite The Revival requesting their release following their match with The Lucha House Party on Raw, WWE reportedly turned down this request and are now looking to fix the situation.

Dave Meltzer confirmed these reports on The Wrestling Observer earlier today, where he stated that Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were still in their wrestling attire when they requested their release.

“After their match with Lucha House Party on Monday, The Revival said that they wanted their release. They didn’t get it, but that’s what they asked. So we’ll have to see how this one plays out.”

“I will say that people in the company who I have spoken with today were kinda like, ‘They should have been quiet and worked and let their contract expire and just left.’”

“I’m skeptical right now that they’ll let them go. I mean look at… I don’t wanna use the term ‘held people hostage,’ but it’s kinda like my gut says when I use the word that’s kinda what they’ve done with other people and that was in a much less competitive environment whether it was Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio and there are others too.”

“Yeah so but as far as these guys go, time will tell. Monday night they asked for their release. Another thing is that guys who aren’t happy are getting pushes now and they’re one of them. It’s not a secret that when they were… I don’t think that it was incorrect speculation that when you read the tea leaves that they’re leaving for a lot of reasons for some certain moves that they made so I think at that point once that word was kinda out that’s when they started getting a push.”

“So they may not get buried, they may just try to keep them happy and have them not leave,” he said via Ringsidenews.

There have been a number of hints about The Revival’s future since the two men dropped a huge hint about The Elite on Raw by making the #FTR tag popular, something that was actually started by The Young Bucks.

It is unknown as to whether or not Mike and Maria Bennett will be given the same kind of treatment after they requested their WWE release this week as well.
