Money in the Bank is less than two weeks away and now that all the names have been announced for the annual ladder matches, WWE could be planning an interesting storyline on tonight’s show.
WWE is competing against the NBA this week and are aware that they need to do something to pull back the ratings which have seemingly been in free fall in recent weeks, which could be why Roman Reigns has been publicly declaring that he will be part of tonight’s show because he has unfinished business on Raw despite being moved over to SmackDown Live as part of the Superstar Shake-up.
Dave Meltzer discussed an invasion angle as part of the show tonight on The Wrestling Observer this week, where he revealed that Reigns may not be alone when it comes to returning to his old stomping ground.
“We knew that they were going to pull something out….I thought they might bring back Steve Austin, their idea was to bring Roman Reigns to Raw and other guys, so they cancelled their Monday Night SmackDown House show so a lot of the SmackDown guys might, I’m gonna guess no one’s told me this, but my guess is you’re going to have Roman Reigns and you’re also going to have the four women and the four guys in the Money in the Bank match running in and doing an angle, maybe,” he said via Sportskeeda.
Tonight’s Raw is expected to be stacked since WWE knows that they are in a ratings war just one week before their flagship show streams live from The United Kingdom. WWE has canceled their SmackDown House show in order to have bodies for tonight so it’s obvious that something could be going down in Cincinnati, Ohio.
